Are you passionate about luxury interior design, PROFICIENT in Revit, CAD, and SketchUp, live in Austin, TX and have at least 1-2 years of experience working as a Junior Designer or Design Assistant?

J.Fisher Interiors, an Architectural Digest-approved design firm in Austin, is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Junior Designer to join our team on a full-time, 1099 contractor basis. On-site work required. Must have your own computer with relevant programs if or when working from home.

This is a unique position where you will learn how to be a project manager/senior designer quickly with the ability to move up fast. Hours:

35-40 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and update CAD and Revit drawings, including floor plans, elevations, and detailed layouts.
  • Develop 3D renderings and visualizations using Revit or SketchUp to bring design concepts to life. Including custom furniture designs.
  • Source materials, furniture, and finishes, ensuring alignment with project budgets and timelines.
  • Organize and maintain design samples and project documentation.
  • Communicate with vendors and contractors to coordinate orders and deliveries.
  • Support the lead designer with client presentations, mood boards, and other design-related tasks.
  • Assist with photo shoots
  • Run errands (must have car)

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Revit, CAD, and SketchUp is a MUST
  • Critical Thinking skills are a must
  • Strong understanding of luxury design principles and aesthetics
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask, switch gears, and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous experience in interior design or a related field preferred
  • Positive attitude and a collaborative mindset
  • Strong sense of self and character
  • Passion for design and aesthetics
  • Confident and willing to ask questions when they aren't sure
  • Appreciates and is not sensitive to direct straight forward communication
  • Detail oriented -  Like seriously, you MUST have the ability to pay attention to the details
  • Previous experience as a junior interior designer a plus

Compensation:

Hourly rate based on experience.

**This position requires a 3 month trial period before the candidate will be hired as an employee.**
