AxAdvocacy specializes in strategic advocacy, policy analysis, and building relationships to advance our clients' interests. Our team of experts is committed to providing exceptional service and achieving impactful advocacy results.

 

Directors are important members of the AxAdvocacy team and support our clients and Communications Division, by helping to develop, research, and implement strategic solutions. We work as a team to produce high-quality, data-driven analysis and strategic insights for our clients.

 

This position offers a dynamic and growth-oriented opportunity to contribute to the success of our public affairs, advocacy, and corporate campaigns, in supporting clients across a wide range of economic sectors.

 

Location: Washington, DC

Full-time, in-office: 9:00 – 5:00 p.m. Eastern.

Flexible paid time off and reasonable remote work considered on an annual basis.

 

Support Strategic Communications Efforts:

  • Assist the Strategic Communications team in developing and executing public affairs and communication strategies that align with the clients’ advocacy goals and interests.
  • Participate in daily Communications team meetings, as well as other various meetings to discuss company projects and objectives.
  • Draft press releases, media advisories and website content.
  • Build and maintain press contacts.
  • Assist team with pitching stories to media.
  • Assist with booking clients on television, radio, podcasts and other media.
  • Assist in drafting and reviewing proposals.
  • Compile daily press clips relevant to clients.
  • Clip relevant TV and radio segments for use on social media.
  • Manage projects and ensure timeliness and accuracy of deliverables.
  • Prepare and organize meeting agendas and manage follow-up on actions items.
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations, providing updates, memos and briefing documents for internal and external audiences.
  • Generate reports on the effectiveness of public affairs and communication strategies.
  • Serve as a utility player, assisting in various tasks and responsibilities as needed. Including collaboration with other departments to integrate research findings that may be beneficial.
  • Stay current on best practices and emerging trends in public affairs and advocacy.

 

Successful candidates for this position will possess the following qualities and skills:

 

  • 2-5 years of communications experience on Capitol Hill, political campaigns or public relations firms.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking characteristics and ability to provide actionable insights.
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Must have strong writing skills and be willing to provide a writing sample.
  • Exceptional teamwork and collaborative approach to projects.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow professionally.
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and experience in preparing presentation decks.
  • Familiarity with various social media platforms; experience with email marketing is a plus.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to take on diverse tasks and responsibilities.
  • Proven track record of producing high-quality research and analysis.
